Head Louse Info: What you Need to Know

Head lice is an incredibly serious matter, and not only because it is a seriously embarrassing and frustrating problem, but also because it can thus be incredibly detrimental to one’s life; there is certain head louse info that you can learn about, and once you have, you will be able to be much more prepared for the situation if it ever occurs.

Head Louse Info

In regards to head louse info that you should know about, there are quite a few factors in particular that are of great importance; for instance there is the head louse info regarding the fact of what head lice actually is.

Basically the head louse is a tiny, wingless parasitic insect that lives among human hairs and that feeds on extremely small amounts of blood that is drawn from the scalp; as well, although they may sound rather gross, it is surprisingly how common of a problem it is, especially among the younger children.

Other head louse info that you should know is in regards to that of the ‘dangers’ of lice; you should know that lice are not considered as being dangerous, and they do not spread disease, however they are contagious, and they can be incredibly irritating and embarrassing, especially for younger children who have to go to school and deal with such a problem.

How to Tell if Your Child Has Lice

There are in fact several different ways that you will be able to tell if your child has lice, and the best thing to do is to look for lice eggs in your child’s hair; they look like tiny yellow or tan dots before they hatch, and after hatching, the remaining shell will look white or clear.

You should know that lice lay their nits on hair shafts close to the skin’s surface, where it is great for them because the temperature is perfect for keeping warm until they hatch, and if you are looking through your child’s hair then you should know that nits can look sort of like dandruff, and so if you see what you think is dandruff in your child’s hair then you should make sure to take a closer look because you want to make sure that it is actually dandruff and not nits, because if it is, then you will obviously thus have to take further action to solve the problem.
